Pop/pour. Initially a bit tight overall, but opens up nicely with air. On the nose, a perfumed mix of fruit along with a nice accent of oak. On the palate, this gives a sense of salinity and minerality bathed in some pretty rich fruit. The oak and malo are both restrained but serve to add a nice complexity. Excellent mineral driven chard. Opened with copain Brosseau and interestingly had a different experience than another taster - copain was less intense and shorter finish. I only wish I bought more of these.

Perhaps I caught this at an awkward stage, but it came across as chunky and simple. Disappointing, as I was excited to try this. Not on the same level as other Bedrock whites.

Great chardonnay for a typical non-chardonnay lover. Light golden, little oak on nose, more apple/pear/lemon than pineapple/melon richer fruit. Great acidity/clarity on palate. Oak is well integrated but noticeable. Smooth, but not overly buttery or creamy finish. You may be able to tell what I don't like about Cali chard in this review... Like this wine

Easter wine #1 Color: light yellow. Nose of lemon, lime; light. Palate same as last November: lemony, herbal, grapefruit with a mineral streak. Nice, but for those looking for Chardonnay-lite. Last bottle of six.

Wow delicious. The nose seems a bit reticent but the palate explodes with stone fruits, ephemeral honey that barely hints sweetness and great minerality. Sharp, clean acidity. Great wine.

Color: light yellow. Nose of minerals, lemon/lime, apples. Once again, came across as a more delicate, elegant version of chardonnay. Not a big bruiser by any stretch. 1st wine of Thanksgiving and appreciated by those in the crowd looking for a lighter styled wine.

Popped and poured. Light golden yellow, pretty. Citrus driven nose shows lemon zest, flinty minerals, and a faint suggestion of oak-spice. With added aeration, an herbaceous floral note emerges (honeysuckle/verbena). Perhaps just a hair less less than completely light in body, the palate shows deeper citrus notes of lemon/lime flesh, green apple, and a solid impression of minerals. I was interested to compare this to the Copain Brosseau chardonnay, which is I absolutely adore. And this coming from someone who does not much like CA chards. Copain's version I think sees no new wood and little or no malo, and is focused like a laserbeam with mineral and lemon rind flavors and deceptive palate weight. The Bedrock (Morgan's second release of this chardonnay) shows more malo, and to my palate at least, some noticeable oak. This seems to …

Very nicely balanced chard. Great tropical fruit, lemon/lime, with layers of minerality, and steeliness. Very Chablis-like in many respects. Wonderfully done. I wish I had the strength of will to hold onto some, but they're so good, they're all gone.

Bright, medium yellow appearance. Mineral nose with lemon curd and grapefruit. Enticing bouquet came through with just a bit of a let-down on the palate. Was expecting something altogether larger and richer--was distinctly lighter, more feminine than Chalone's own version. Palate was light, elegant and a bit tart; mineral-laden, medium finish . . . more Chablis than Meursault. Excellent acidity and while nice, I think I prefer the classic Chalone big-boy style, thank you.
