A slight improvement over the previous Merlot, this from Napa Valley and has M tannins and M+ acidity and some structure to it. dark fruit, plum, black cherry, cedar.

Interesting old world nose. Had some barnyard going on. Dark red dense color. Opened into a nice Merlot. Smooth and balanced and not overbearing. Soft blue flavors with mild plum. Medium length. Good solid mouthfeel. Good all around $30-35 Merlot. Surprised that I got the old world nose from a commercial (Duckhorn) Napa vineyard.

Opaque purple bowl to rim. Plums, blackberries, dark chocolate, some spice on the nose. Palate is silky with cooked cherries, tart blackberries, cedar, white pepper, hints of spice. Medium tannins and acidity.
