Brunelli, Amarone della Valpolicella, Classico Campo Titari Riserva

Amarone Riserva at it‘s best, full bodied, ripe, prune, Amarena, red fruits, vanilla, allspice, mushrooms, cinamon, liquorice, deep red and dense, enough accidity to keep a nice tension and completed with silky tannins, wonderfull indeed. 60 Minutes of air, the best wine possible with a braised St. Martin Goose.

Öppnade förra helgen och den var bra… 1/2 flaskan blev stående i kylskåpet och nu, dvs en vecka senare var detta helt fantastiskt… vilken storlek i doften, wow!! Och smaken har även den lyft sig till en ny nivå, fascinerande och det efter att korken drogs för en vecka sen… kvalite!!

Massively rich and tannic at first. With 3-4 hours in the decanter, it settled down a bit to reveal a super silky and lush textured package of dark fruits (plum, blackberry, prune) and chocolate. The nose was never too prominent, but the palate made up for it and then some, followed by perhaps the finish, the highlight of the wine. It didn't completely show itself for 4+ hours of air though, at which point the length and lingering fruit-driven flavors …

A very good Amarone with a rich and powerful style. Not so sweet and very complex with dark fruits dominating but also aromas of earth, wood and herbs. A great full bodied wine with a good QPR and a different more masculine style then the Campo Inferi (of Brunelli).

My gawd does this have some welly. Comic book sized plum flavours, edging towards sweetness. Longer than a sailors ****** on shore leave. Glad we shared the bottle between 5.

God (som vanligt) men årgången är inte fantastisk än... spar ett år innan nästa öppnas!

Small tasting glass @ VINEUM during service, so a brief note. This is very rich and bold, a big step up from both the base Amarone and the other Riserva that Alberto makes (the Campo Inferi)...

Tasting: Hm, not sure what to make of this. Very close to a dessertwine. Nice to try a zip, but a whole glass, or a whole bottle? Very big, quite tasty and quite sweet, even if not as sweet as expected. I'm glad they do these type of wines, but this is not for me.
