I suspect this bottle was flawed (oxidized). Very unpleasant, "hot" finish (more than what would be expected even in view of the wines 15.5% ABV).

Spice and fruit balanced with moderate acid and fine tannins. Likely at its peak.

Consumed over two days. Preference on day two. I think WS nailed this and I'm sure it had a lot to do with QPR. Very subtle complexities of polished red fruit that gain slight weight with ox in the bottle. Drink or hold

The WS92 #29 Top 100 might be a stretch but the TN is pretty much on point, solid core of purple-red fruits and minerality with nice toasty balance, nice QPR and well made wine several notches above similar priced peers. 89-91+ with time but RTD now.

Great price for this quality Grenacha. It is really holding up well !! The cork was perfect after at least 7 years in the bottle. Consumed over two days. This wine started will spicy cherry fruit; as it opened up, this wine showed better balance. On day two, this wine had softened to reveal increased depth, texture, and integrated complexity. Dark red color with no oxidation, and clarity is good. Aromas of black cherry, and vanilla. Flavors of cherry, raspberry, …

Deep and dark color. Bright cooked black fruit aromas and flavors. (Became more plum-like with aeration) with hints of sweet spices, black olives and vanilla. Touch of minerality and purple flowers on the long finish. Well integrated tannins.

Lovely wine. Lots of fruit and plenty of tannins to age for several more years.

The nose is kinda like booze-soaked chocolate and nut bread, and booze-soaked dried fruit. When the bottle was first opened it was more typical Grenache. On the palate its grainy, pretty full bodied, with dark dried berry fruit and dark chocolate and something more pastry like and slightly floral/garrigue. Not quite as hot as youd expect for 15.5% but the alcohol is definitely there. For a big, high alcohol, mass produced budget wine, this is relatively (but not exceptionally) good …

Got better once some alcohol blew off, but initially smelled more like a port than a Grenache. Straightforward and fruity, ripe, simple.

What a QPR. We brought back a case from Seattle Costco. Really liked it. This is first bottle in about a year. Wrong fruit forward with cherry and blackberry. Tannins were nice but are enough to hold this wine longer. For the price, this is a really feat great wine. Will try again In 6 months to a year.

Clear, deep ruby in color with blue at the rim. Clean nose with medium- intensity developing aromas of baked red fruits (strawberry, plum) and dried sweet herbs (bay leaf), olive tapenade. Dry with medium acidity, medium (well integrated) tannins, high alcohol, medium body and medium intensity flavors of baked red fruit (plums), spice (cinnamon), and along finish of mingling fruit and herbs. High alcohol. Well balanced with good length, intensity, complexity and concentration of flavors. Very good wine, drinking well …

This is the type of wine that the Spaniards really excel at. A rich, ripe, Garnacha fruit bomb, bursting with opulent plum and blackberry fruit. A moderate acidity keeps this from seeming flabby. Hints of cracked pepper, stone and mineral linger on the juicy, lip-smacking finish. Flat-out delicious. Don't know how this ever made #29 in the WS Top 100 of 2018, but it certainly over-delivers at just $12.98. 50+5+12+16+7=90

A nose of some fruit and funk, dark purple in color. A medium to full bodied red, with black cherry, meat, dust, finished with pepper spice, good midweek wine. www.winelx.com

Strong Smokey and cigar aroma when first open, which shifts a bit over time. Initial taste has that same cigar-like flavor, moving forward licorice and even a currant. High tannin wine that opened up over the course of an hour and could be even better second day.

At the $13 we paid, one of the best values for Grenache from Spain. At 6 years old, aging well with opaque black color without any sigh of brown. Bright red raspberry fruit and smoothly textured. Made exclusively from old vine Grenache.

Grenache is one of the few noble grapes that I prefer to be on the riper, modern side. This Grenache is a great example of that. Ripe, almost sweet, black raspberry and cherry commingle with notes of black pepper and tobacco. Low acidity, but there's just enough there to keep it from becoming cloying. Stellar QPR at $13.

If you can accept the style of this wine, you will see the beauty in it. It is high-alcohol, skittles rainbow infused, bright red candied fruit garnacha with a hint of pepper. This deserves some respect given the enormous qpr.

Im generally fond of grenache, especially Rhone style. Interesting to see what the Spaniards do with it. This was one of four WS 100s that my tasting group tried recently. I loved the smoky expressiveness, and the long finish. Those tannins might soften a bit with time, but I doubt this wll get much cellar time. A steal at $14!

Decent enough wine. We decanted for about 2 hours. I didnt get much on the nose. Full of dark fruits with a generous soft touch. Could be a tad over-ripe and a bit muddled. This should get better with a few years in the bottle. I bought a case on the WS hype and a sale at my local wine store so lots of opportunity to see how this one evolves.

My bottle did not seem to taste like those reviewed by others. Nose of forrest floor and a light scent of dark fruits. The wine was smooth and had a soft mouthfeel. Flavors of softened dark fruits moving towards currant. Wine maintained its structure well and I'm glad I didn't age it any longer. Finish was soft but lingered.

PNP. Slightly tannic and grabby but it mellows with a few hours. Fruity, reasonable balance for the QPR. Dry. Tad light on the finish. Seems like a solid 88-89 wine with a bump if you include the QPR.

Tasted with side by side with the 2005 Mancuso, which is a superb example of a Spanish Grenache competitive with the great French ones. Gladly bought this $13 wine as a great value. Black color, purple raspberry nose, with a smooth and rich mouth entry, near caressing. Fine spike of acidity and drying tannin after the swallow, with no astringency. Finishes dry. Very good with meatballs, tomato, and pasta. Even when kept open for 9 days, remained incredibly dark, dense, …
