Red fruited nose, with some earthy undertones. Riper on the palate than I can remember. Medium grip, medium acid, red berries with mushroom and soil pop up. Very good but I liked the cooler vintage of this bottling slightly better. Time to drink up.

Medium garnet in color. Red fruited nose, savory herbs, sous-bois and lightly charred cedar. Oak is well absorbed. Dry but fruitful, medium bodied, elegant grip and long lush finish. Excellent bottle.

This bad boy is a fabulous "second tier" Burgundy with a nose redolent of ripe strawberies, dark cherries, spices and some other stuff too complex for me to isolate, but it is unbelievably enticing. On the palate, the wine is smooth as a baby's rear, stimulating acidity and flavors that shimmer and coat the mouth and sustain the experience for over a minute. i absolutely love this wine and wish i had more in my cave. Bravo!

Lovely nose of cherry, nutmeg, floral. Very interesting palate; plum, earth, cinnamon, red berries. Drinking well via aerator. Very nice inexpensive Burgundy.

Nice Ruby color. This wine was off and on over the course of the evening. Some ripe berry fruit in the background, stewed plum, with pretty green notes. Little bit of sweetness. Improved only slightly with some air. Back and forth on this one but pretty decent overall. 87-89 range.

Very nice! Lots of oak and spice on the nose. Mild tannins. Enjoyable berry fruit with a long finish. Paired with salmon on the grill. Will buy more.

Very little tannin for such a young 1er Burg, but I guess I'm just glad I opened it now. I don't know what might happen if you wait 10-12 years to pop. Slow ox'ed for 2 hours prior to drinking. Tasted a bit after PnP, came across a bit thin and watery, but bulked up some after being open a while. Raspberries and earthy tea on the palate, certainly enjoyable.

Deep garnet color. Medium body. Inexpressive nose, but with some wood and spice. On the palate, lots of plum fruit as well as spice. Nice firm structure and brooding depth; the wine requires two hours to truly unfold. Keep for a couple years or give a generous decant.

At first a bit closed but it opened up to show great notes of berries with that hint of dirt that is very pleasant. Balance was very good. A pleasant drinking experience now but it may improve slightly.

I was suprised to see how much oak there was in this wine. Felt like it had spend 24 months on new oak (that's not the case however). The oak didn't integrate better with decant, and the fruit couldn't support the oak really... Very modern styled burgundy, perhaps a bit to much winemaking for me on this one... Do not think there is enough fruit to support long aging, so I'm worried about the oak. You get the point.

Domaine de la Vougeraie tasting (Watson's, Hong Kong) : This spends 12 percent in barrels, 30% new oak. An easy to drink style to be drunk within 10 years. This has a very pale rim in a light ruby core. Savoury with smokey bacon and light red fruits - cherry and strawberry. Low tannins and acidity and not particularly well integrated.
