Cantine Povero Cisterna d'Asti Santa Lucrezia

Similar to my last tasting - bright and lively color, a nose of subdued fruit (cherry, currants?) at first mixed with a whiff of yeast, but quickly turning to a earthy soil odor that mixes very well with the fruit. Light in the mouth, with same notes of fruit and soil plus some good acid and tannin structure. A good finish, closed at first, but opened as the wine breathed. slightly fruity, bright, with a pleasant earthiness and a good finish. Unfortunately, I paired this wine with an earthy vegetable stew that required a heavier wine, a mistake I will not repeat for the remaining bottles. Had I paired this with a light meat or vegetable dish it would have been perfect.
