Wagner-Stempel Riesling trocken

Screwcap came off with a pop. Clear golden color with green tint. Woah. Something going on on the nose. Nose is very mature, but not premature. Really richly aromatic and lots of petrol! On palate, high acidity but with a hint of mature sweetness which really balances it perfectly! Rich and quite long finish. Really wonderful for an entry level wine. Compared to the Heerkretz and Hollberg single-vineyard wines, this is at a completely different level of maturity, but not …

PnP. Light golden metallic. Generous archetypical semi mature Riesling bouquet, minerals, a bit fat and spicy, honey, some heavy fruits, in fact almost Pinot Gris-like. Elegant dry spritzig palate, minerals again and fine balance, acidity, elegant ethereal finish. Drink now. What a pleasant surprise

Rather advanced color.Yellow with a tinge of green. Hint of petrol on the nose. Bright and steely.Good fruit - green apple and a little grapey at the finish. Medium-bodied and generally dry although the fruit does come through. Multi-dimensional and although it has a slightly jagged feel to it, the balance is quite good. Spicy finish. Very good.

Very crisp, stony, pomelo. It's not all that dry on the palate. Faint pineapple. Dry finish.

I generally don't drink trocken Riesling but I enjoyed this a lot. Very slightly spritz. Flinty and smoky. Still has a bit of fruit to it. Candied lemon peel. Sweet spices. A touch of honey when it warms up. Lovely balance and lively acidity. Real easy to drink and very expressive. Very good.

Rich aromas from ripe grapes. Lots of Riesling fruit in the direction of apples and citrus, honey and very obvious mineral character. Good, fresh acids and fills the mouth well. Dry, fairly long finish. This is an excellent Rheinhessen.!

Zeer goede riesling. Droog maar toch genoeg body aanwezig om het weerwerk te bieden aan visspiesjes op de bbq. Heeft een flinke dosis frisheid en alles zit goed in balans, en dat voor de basiswijn van dit huis. Een wijn waarbij je verlangt naar een tweede glas...

Großes Gewächs 2007 (Trestle on Tenth) : Pale fruit scents and a rougher palate. I love how craggy it feels, then it turns surprisingly supple on the finish.

(12% vol) A greenish tint with residual effervescence, slightly sweet but still rather dry (if that makes sense). Herbal and honey note. J- was very fond of this wine and preferred it over the 2005 Rieussec sec "R". I considered it nice and refreshing and a perfect accompaniment to a hot summers day/evening and it did hold its own against a chicken roasted in tomatoes and Italian sausage.
