This bottle showed beautifully — at peak maturity yet still vibrant. The nose opened with deep black cherry, cassis, cedar, and hints of graphite. On the palate, perfectly balanced dark fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a long, elegant finish that carried notes of mocha and tobacco. Polish and poise are fully on display here — luxurious without heaviness, and a seamless pairing with grilled ribeyes. At 11 years old, the structure has softened into satin while the core fruit remains vivid. …

I'm giving this 92 points because I think it will eventually merit 93 but tonight it's only a 91 for me Dark purple Reticent nose initially but after a couple of hours aeration there is lovely blackberry wafting from the glass Initially I found the wine to be dark and brooding without much complexity and an almost astringent finish. But after 4 hours in the decanter it proved to be quite nice with very pure black cherry, almost none of …

$75.00 Cabernet Plus Event (Liz's House Minneapolis) : Day 1: Natural cork. The wine with the most upside at this tasting but still very young. Firm tannins with spice, dark fruits, coffee beans, oak, cherry and floral notes. Concentrated wine and medium plus finish. Drink 2030 and beyond. 93 points Day 2: Big style wine with a long life ahead. Blueberries, dark fruits, spice, oak, coffee beans, floral and dark chocolate. Long finish. 94+ points

Was the best of the five year vertical of Cab’s. Lush and balanced, I was very surprised how deep the fruit was. In a great place right now so no need to wait.

Lovely wine, maybe a tiny bit past peak but drinking beautifully. Decanted 2.5/3hours. Luscious opening giving way to a bright, elegant mid note with elements of tappenade, salt, current, and herbs. Finish was moderately lengthen, but did not “go for a long time”. Drink now, don’t hold!

Masses of dusty rose, crushed rocks, underbrush hints of cocoa and cinnamon-tinged black cherries wafts up from the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon. It’s silky to the core, with vibrant acidity that helps to enliven the mineral-tinged red and black fruits and pretty inner florals that cascade across the palate. The 2014 finishes fresh, almost juicy in character while leaving a subtle coating of sweet tannins to linger. This is radiant Walla Walla Cabernet Sauvignon in a beautiful place tonight yet balanced …

Wow, what a complex nose. I even get hints of soy. Dark, rich cherry comes out on the nose and palate, and thank goodness, that deep fruit is paired with acidity. Great, elegant cab that (IMHO) embarrasses a lot of what comes out of Napa. Drinking well now, but lots of life left.

Picked up last year in Austin on a trip with Agelvis and the wives..... I'm a big fan of Leonetti in general, but not so much this vintage. Lighter, well aged Bdx look to it in the glass. Not bricking, but getting close to it. This is a tad older in how it's drinking, at times over the 3 hours. There's some stewed plum and a hint of raisin on the nose and the palate, now. It's still got some …

93 points. Beautiful opening and extended length between the opening and the mid notes. The middle had some dark fruit (cherry, plum) and the finish was mid-length with a little bit more spice/heat then I like. Maybe was best drank a year ago, but still presenting nicely. That said, I intend to finish drinking the others I have from 2004 over the next 12 months.

Well to say that this overdelivered would be an understatement. A unicorn wine that I purchased at auction for a song mostly out of academic curiosity. I've had my share of '70s and '80s CA cabs but never anything from WA from that era. Immediately upon opening I was struck by the effusive, distinctive nose. Rustic, with shoe leather, bell pepper, brambly fruit and wild berries. Reminds me of St Estephe, and it would be really interesting to put this …

Crimson in color with a touch of bricking at the edge of the glass. 14.6% ABV. Heady nose of red and black fruits, leather, menthol and anise. Big, plush and concentrated. Black currents, cassis liqueur, smoke and licorice on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Classic Leonetti that is just gorgeous at 15 years of age. Best over the next 2-3 years.

Unexpectedly one of the best wines I've had this year. Lots of bell pepper, good amount dried fruits that remind me of figs and raisins, and a great acidity. This wine has a very old world touch with new world fruits and in my opinion beats out most old Napa and Bordeaux wines from the 1980s/90s I had this year. Not a cheap wine but for the price I would consider it a value if comparing it with high end …

This is why Leonetti got on the map! Known for years only to serious collectors, and now more available (thankfully), this is a "value" cab. Almost perfectly balanced, there is simply nothing not to like here. Doesn't overwhelm like some of the current Napa cabs--just smooth and delicious. I still have a few more bottles of this vintage, but it is drinking nice right now and I don't think it will gain more, so if you have some, enjoy.
