Nose with obvious oxydative notes. Less so in the very full and round taste - think ripe peaches. Clearly the result of very ripe grapes, this misses a bit of acidic punch. Instead, it comes across almost clumsy, and might not age much further.

Quick decant, deep yellow / gold colour. Rich nose of melon and pear, a very slight hint of oxidation that actually bring additional complexity. Rich mouthfeel, plenty glycerin, oxidation a little more marked. Good finish, long and refined. The 15% alcohol are well hidden. Quite serious, this is more interesting than fun. The very intense flavours (second to Coulée de Serrant only) make this a wine to drink now and then, not often.

Medium gold with amber reflections Aromatics medium +. Honey, golden florals, saffron, apple cider and later some ginger. No new oak Palate has a medium + body. Acid medium +, but somewhat dampened for Chenin given subtle residual sugar. Mild phenolics. Alcohol medium +. Bruised apples Finish has a medium length. Golden yellow Intense nose of apricot, beeswax, honey, tropical fruit, mineral. Full body on palate with 15%, yet the bright acidity balances it well. Rich and intense minerality, fruit with a hint of spice at the finish. The long finish is impressive. It is a bit too explosive when compares to the top cuvee of Joly.

Not worth giving a rating at this point, needs some more time to come together. Seems a bit awkward right now.

Very high alcohol and still some residual sugar. This makes for a wine that, while not lacking acidity, is a bit heavy and almost cloying. Clean though. Not sure this is my kind of wine. As this seems to be built for eternity, I'll not hesitate to leave my two other bottles for a couple of years more before trying again.

Bright honey yellow Minerality is present, yellow stone fruit, cotton Round, great acidity, papaya, long finish. Very concentrated in flavor and depth. This is an excellent wine that will age well. In some ways it reminds me of a good young CENTRAL district Riesling. Although not of my stylistic preference, this is a wine I would buy again, but age. It will get better.
