Poured at the winery. Deep ruby garnet color, with thick rusty rim. Leathery molasses, charred stone, and subtle raisin. Very smooth and very dry. Firm, lower intensity tannins on the longish finish. Croatian red wine from Dalmatia: Plavac Mali. Aged in large wooden barrels of Slavonian oak for 6 years. 15 % alcohol. Brick red color. Warm aromas of black and red fruit, earth, herbs, oak, vanilla and licorice. Round flavors of ripe plum, sour cherries, oak and vanilla. Dry. Full body. Low acidity. Sticky tannins. Okay balance. Not much of a structure. Some complexity. Long finish with black fruit and oak. I’m not a big fan of Plavac Mali. I find …
