This is the second edition of Rasa’s Founder’s Reserve. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2018 Founder’s Reserve II pours a deep ruby color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe black and red fruit: Bing cherry, blackberries, plum, licorice, vanilla and baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium acid. …

P&P; This wine is really drinking well now. Palate coating flavors of blackberry, dark chocolate, and hints of oak, with a spicy-sweet finish. These just keep getting better and better! Down to 1 left in the cellar...should drink well through 2033-2035.

Outstanding value. Darker fruit, solid tannins, tobacco, smoked meat, and oak. Sad this is my last bottle.

I have consumed most of the case of this wine that I bought, and it seems to get better every bottle. This was good on night one PNP, but even better the next night. Dark fruits, sweet bay leaf, pencil shavings. Drinking beautifully now and, as mentioned repeatedly, excellent QPR!

What a fantastic bottle, even if it was twice the price. I don't see a reason to hold, but the bottle should be good for another couple of years at least

QPR is outstanding... drinking beautifully with a 45 minute decant Was planning on waiting 1 more year on the final case ...useless you have perfect cellaring conditions ... which I do not

Definitely getting better with age, as Billo said it would. Really happy I bought a case of this, as it's been really fun to follow the progression and I'm looking forward to continuing this journey. Black berry fruits, dark chocolate, just the perfect amount of oak. Unfortunately, I let half of the bottle sit for too long, and it had passed when I got to it on day 3. BUMMER! Happy to have more left in the cellar though. Drink …

Still going strong on day 2. Secondary flavors are a little more into the fore, but still good fruit flavors.

Completely blossomed compared to the first bottle that I had last year. It was good from the pop and just got better from there. Beautiful bouquet with lovely weight and balance across the palate. The Cabernet is up front, but perfectly complimented by whatever else is in there and the result is commendable in its complexity and sheer tasty goodness. I consider myself lucky to have four more to space out over the next several years. Could be a candidate …

Started decant at 1130 ... still tight at 300 ... really opened at 500 ... amazing at 630pm If you can open and leave it alone for 6 or 7 hours you will be well rewarded

A year after my first bottle of this, I think this is hitting its stride. Tannins are initially a touch firm, but settle down quickly after opening, and this is just ridiculously easy to drink. As fingers notes, this is a bit zippier than the first Founders Blend, but not in a bad way at all.

Notes after following for 4 hours open, primarily because we found this so easy to drink after the first 30 minutes of air that it was consumed in short order. Medium ruby color with no sediment. Pretty standard issue on the bouquet: dark berries, mulch, a little peppery spice and oak. Really good balance already and the tannins are just the slightest bit firm. I think this is a lighter, more zippy edition than the original FR. 5+10+16+8= 89

Nose of light baking spice and cassis. Full mouthfeel with solid structure. Ripe black fruit flavor with oak tobacco. Long finish. Starting to uncoil.

Checked in on this by mistake (grabbed wrong bottle). Consistent w/prior notes. Drank best on day 3, so more time definitely will benefit enjoyment. Drink 2022 - 2038.
