Domaine de Mont Joly Beaujolais-Villages

Served slightly below room temp. Good nose and quite a deep colour with a purple rim. Some Blackberry fruit at first and some juicy, ‘sweet’ raspberry and strawberry fruit came through on the soft palate. Good balance and length with plenty of mouthwatering acidity. Very nice on its own and good with food (slow-cooked duck legs in a fruit sauce). A few hours later, the flavours were mainly of dark cherries with some savoury character emerging.
