At Gordon's Fine Wines, Waltham, Mass.: From Stellenbosch. This was my favorite of the whites. Not as pale. Very intense, with more savory notes, and a pronounced aroma of lime leaf.

Everything you want from an excellent SA chenin. No detailed notes here, just a wonderful example with excellent ripeness; apple and pear abound, surprisingly light body for 14% abv. Plowed through the glass while still a little too cold; think I did it a disservice there!

A fabulous Chenin, chiseled and complex. Some honeyed, floral notes on the nose. The wine was energetic and lively, with notable saline and quince, and an impressively long finish. A special bottling I was privileged to share.

Tasting: Alright, but I'm not a big fan of white wines.

Apple, lemon, honey melon. Starts a little sweet but then acidity comes. Long finish. Great chenin blanc.

Eben Sadie tasting #2: 100 % CB planted between 1905 and 1920. Nose: A little closed at first - aromas of mango without sweetness, green apple, quince, some fermented vegetables, wax. Reminded a little bit of Riesling on the nose. Palate: So precise and mineral. Voluminous and razor sharp preciseness at the same time. Medium+ acidity. Long finish. Will develop into a monster wine with some years in the cellar, I think.
