A blend of Tempranillo and Graciano from Pago El Rincón, considered to be the best parcel within Viña Lanciano, consisting mainly of very old bush vines. Fermented in tronconical oak vats, aged in new French oak barrels for 22 months. 13,5% alcohol. Dense, fully opaque blackish-red color with a faint youthful, blueish hue. The nose feels dense, dark-toned and quite concentrated yet not particularly expressive with somewhat understated aromas of dark fruits, some licorice, light woody tones, a little bit …

85% Tempranillo and 15% Graciano. Outstanding vintage of this flagship Bodegas LAN Rioja. Intense and bright red color. Aromas and flavors of blackberry, black plum, dark chocolate and well aged balsamic vinegar. Additional hints of rose petals, baking spices, graphite and cedar. Hint of cranberry on the tangy finish. Medium plus body and excellent complexity. The fruit and organics are extremely well integrated and balanced, as is the acidity and alcohol. Make sure you give this one a long decant.

had the first bottle of this 2 years ago and this second bottle definitely better with the "beauty sleep". Very classic Rioja flavors of fresh blackberry, sweet plum, dill, oak, and tobacco. Full bodied wine but smooth, well balanced and long finish. Pretty much everything one could want in a Rioja. Yummy!

This is a delicious nine-year-old Rioja. Showing nice complexity with a nice mouthfeel. Showing black fruits with wood, licorice, vanilla, earth, coffee, light vinaigrette, black tea, peppercorn, wet leaves, spices and light herbs. Full bodied and smooth with medium plus acidity. Nice finish with spices and tangy raspberries. Needs a couple of hours of airtime to open up properly. Still young and will be better in the next 5 to 10 years. Rich and engaging. Spicy and tasty. I paired …

2 hour decant. The oak jumps out of the glass on this one. Vanilla and spice dominate the nose. Dried cherries and raspberries on the palate. Mouth-watering acidity refined tannins hit the gums. Long, pleasant finish

Wine Spectator Grand Tour - Las Vegas : Aromas of cedar, cassis and leather. Opens with full dark fruit and some mineral notes. Full and rich mid-palate with good depth. Big finish. Excellent.

Aged in a hybrid barrel, 80% of the barrel surface is american, french oak tops and heads. Medium body, medium tannin, very easy dirnking wine, and actually kinda more than that. Kinda better than what i am being told, round but with good

Punches above its price point. This is a gem. Deeper, richer, and more brooding than an $18 CD wine has a right to be. Lovely balance, nice acidity, and a lingering finish. I will buy this again for when cheap friends come over and they brought some Apothic Red. That way I'll enjoy the wine but won't be blowing the budget on Visigoths.

This is a pleasant surprise in the under $15 price range (most are out of balance to the sweet side) Joel Gott/J Lohr/Chateau Ste Michelle, to name a few. A very structured well balanced wine with good fruit ripe and sour cherry. This reminds me (but only better) of some Brunello Di Montalcino's in the $25-$30 range. Medium-full body, dark red color, a lot of flavor and a med-long finish. Improves the longer its opened. recommend serving at room temperature …

Unclear but somewhat alcoholic nose at first. Rustic, gentle tannins. Chalky cranberry. Goes down smoothly but leaves a little tannin on front to middle of tongue. Drinkable on own but hearty enough for food. Tried with a red spaghetti with cabbage, shrimp, and red pepper flake. Can't say enough about this as an excellent house red!

Deep ruby. Aromas of prunes and other warm ripe fruits, stewed meats, cigar box, and hint of barn yard. Medium-plus body, medium-plus chewy tannins with balanced acidity. Medium-long finish of leathery ripe fruits. Would pair well with shredded boar meat, ox tail, or meat stews.

Good nose with a savoury edge, quite complex dark, ripe blackcurrant fruit; medium weight, nice full mouth-feel. Good concentration and good fruit. Nice Crianza.

Paired with filet mignon, blistered shishito peppers and Manchego Trigal. I'm so happy this wine is as inexpensive as it is. If you can't have 15-20 year old Reservas, Crianzas are the way to go for me. Anything in the middle hardly seems worth it. This wine has enough structure to keep me happy but is accessible on the cork pull with all sections of the orchestra playing in harmony. One of the most reliable go-to's at weeknight prices.

A very solid Rioja, with great structure, hints of vanilla and chocolate, and great balance. Could benefit and integrate better from 2 more years in the cellar. Great value!

100% Tempranillo. We just had this a couple days ago, but hardly remember anything about it... other than it was OK (along with pasta & red sauce) and a bit more acidic that I like. I was expecting something more for sure. Certainly nothing at all like the LAN Rioja Edicion Limitada I enjoyed recently. I'm putting an 83 on it for now, and reserve the right to pay more attention next time & revise if needed.

The nose displayed weak aromas of soapy pomegranate (not desirable). Extraordinarily bland and undistinguished wine.

Dark, quite concentrated and almost fully opaque black cherry color. The nose feels slightly restrained, but also pleasantly nuanced with aromas of new leather, sweet strawberry-driven red fruit, a little bit of bretty funk, light licorice powder tones and an oaky hint of vanilla-driven spice. The wine is medium-bodied, ripe and quite round on the palate with flavors of black cherry, vanilla, strawberry-driven ripe red fruit, a little bit of leathery character and a hint of barnyardy brett funk.
