Peninsula Ridge Estates Vidal Icewine

I don't take this score lightly but this is the best icewine I've ever had (tasted 40-50) and one of the best dessert wines I've ever had from anywhere, including D'Yquem. There is an amazing complexity of aromas, beautiful color, viscosity and a finish that is upwards of one minute. The nose has too much to list here, just outstanding. Tooth-achingly sweet and syrupy, but remarkably well balanced. Baked fruit - apple, pear, peach - on the nose. Baked peaches in heavy syrup is the predominant flavor. Still, there is good acidity here to balance all the sugar, and while extremely sugary is not cloying. Pleasant in small doses, and it will keep re-sealed and chilled for a good while without deteriorating.
