Another triumph by Anthony Vietri. Deep red purple in the glass. Dark fruit and a bit of vegetal on the big bosomy nose. Tasty tart dark cherries and plums, spices, Worcestershire, and ebony tannins on the palate. Long and sharply dark finish. This is at the sweet spot right now. If you've got a bunch, hold one for the intellectual experience, but the rest drink in the next year or two.

The winery price of $45 is too much to pay but this is a well done wine. Great, deep color, alluring nose. Concentrated, tart flavors, full body, bold acidity, earthiness, tremendous finish. A touch green with bell pepper, pomegranate, cranberry. Hard to get around the stiff price but a welcoming wine if you do.

A heavy red with notes of tobacco, dark cherry and plum.
