Wrapped up our incredible Rioja vs RdD fight off with this nicely aged Sauternes. Deep golden colour. Medium intensity aroma of honey, dried apricots, peach jam, honeysuckle, hint of dried acacia petals. Palate is oily and concentrated with savoury and spiced dried stone fruits, pleasant bitterness at mid palate, continues to a fading medium light citrusy acidity and concludes with creamy dried and spiced honeyed fruits.

Drank around fire after Christmas dinner, did not take detailed notes. Offered up typical flavors of brown sugar and orange peel, though not as sweet as expected, and the palate felt a bit thin and diluted. Still delicious but I have had much better Sauternes.

Fabulous sticky that was fully mature but did not taste the least bit tired!! Excellent with cheeses at the end of the meal. Followed by the 2007 both from 375ml format and it was fun to contrast both young and old,both delicious

en accompagnement d'un fois gras poché Bouchon entamé au 3/4 Robe : dorée, brillante, mais vraiment pas son age. Nez : 1er sur le citron, citron confit. Avec un peu d'aération, je trouve de l'ananas, du miel. En bouche : C'est bon , le citron domine..Puis à l'air cela se complexifie l'acidité est en harmonie avec les sucres résiduels. Très belle longueur. Tout le monde a adoré. Malheureusement c'était la dernière Excellent

A little bit of cristalisation on de corck but easaly removed. Drank at about 10°C and the wine was excellent! I don't know that much about sauternes but this got my intrest going :) i am definitly going to buy some more sauternes to compare some more The wine looks yellow gold colored. It tastes like acacia. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long.

Encore une fois un beau rôti au nez, viriles notes botrytisées qui s'étirent sur des arômes de girofle, d'anis, de canelles completées par de l'abricot confit, de zeste d'orange. Bien balancé et harmonieux en bouche, avec une complexité aérienne qui se dévoile avec le temps. Rétro sur le miel et la figue séchée. Longueur moyenne, mais rien n'accroche même lorsque le vin se réchauffe. Un vin à son pic.

D'une couleur peu évoluée pour un Sauternes de 26 ans. Au nez, on peut percevoir des notes d'abricots séchées, de miel, d'épices et de botrytis. En bouche, c'est enveloppant avec une bonne acidité. C'est très harmonieux avec beaucoup de présence en bouche. C'est clairement un vin racé et masculin mais sans lourdeur. La finale est plutôt longue et persistante.

Drank with desserts on Christmas day. A rich gold that got richer. Honeyed but not super sweet this is fully mature. Given its age it remains fresh and is not cloying. Apricots and pineapple in the mouth with a hint of pepper. This is easy to drink but is not multi dimensional and has not got more complex over the last 7 years. My last bottle from 6 purchased 7 years ago.

A slightly raised cork, but the mushroom shape at the top suggests it's been this way for a long time. A limpid rich gold, brassy at the edges. Intense honeyed botrytis nose with perfumed honeysuckle notes. Rich and at the same time quite fresh and racy on the attack.
