Strong vanilla on top of plum and black cherry notes for the nose. Almost syrupy thick mouthfeel with negligible tannic structure. Solid fruit flavors, yet any complexity that might have been there has past. Not at all disappointed with this or the previous bottle, as my wife and I enjoy a mature wine on occasion.

Heady nose of plum, cocoa, vanilla and blackberry. Full bodied with a think mouthfeel and completely integrated tannins. Plenty of fruit mid and forward palate, yet not overwhelming although a bit gamey. Medium length finish, somewhat chalky aftertaste. Throws a fair amount of sediment at the end. Intended to save the other bottle for awhile, but this may be just past prime.

Some nice fruit, a hint of chocolate. Decent balance but a tad light on the acids. I like this a lot better than the Bakery Hill Cab that I just tried to drink. Time for the steaks!

Blackberry, cedar, and vanilla. Good balance and luscious fruit, with integrated tannins. Nice finish. I'm not a big shiraz fan, but this is pretty good, and not too alcoholic for a change. Drank with grilled burgundy-black pepper leg of lamb, and this was just perfect.

Deep garnet. Nice dark fruit on the palate with just enough maturity to add some secondary nuances on the finish. This has aged better than I expected, and it is in a very good place right now.

I really like the nose here. It shows dark cherry scents mixed up with hibiscus and hint of peppermint while some leather scents linger underneath. Blackberries and apples show quickly, and as the acidity rises on the mid palate, some green apple flavors show as well. Dark cherry skins appear on the finish. Acidity lingers on the finish, but most of the flavors wind down fairly quickly.

Drank with rack of lamb dinner. Alcohol on the nose but not so much on the palate. Strong dark fruit new world flavors without much tannic backbone. Quite smooth. Pleasant with no offputting elements.

Deep inky purple color. Jammy fruit nose and a little spice with some alcohol, but not in the typical aussie fruit bomb way (a relief!). Dark fruit (blackberry, blueberry) and spice; nice balance of tannin and acidity on the palate. Long finish. Fairly one-dimensional, but nice. Needs about an hour to open up, but then quite enjoyable. Was not as good on night two -- some of the fruit was gone and the heat was more dominant. Rating reflects 1st …

Agree with the back label: plum, spice chocolate...also lemon lime. This was much better on Day 2 after being stored open in the fridge (open for 24 hours). There was some persistence and undertone in the finish. Really missing a mid-palette kick. Not sure to hold a few years and hope for development or just give up.

great pizza wine with a bit more going on. fruit is a little muted right now, but there's a nice simple balance to it. needs at least a 1/2 hour to open, and when I give it an 87 - it's a really delightful 87 points.... not like a lot of wines that we score in the 80's and they probably deserve, well 60 points.....
