So I opened this after discovering my Italian Barolo was not ready to consume and frankly too closed. Once again here I did PnP. Aromatics were muted and I get chocolate some dark cherry and cedar wood. In mouth the wine was better than the Barolo I had opened. Give this wine 60 minutes in the decanter so it has adequate time to open up and you will be richly rewarded. Great QPR.

Decanted for 60 minutes. Big complex California Red with lots of dark fruit, especially blackberry. Long finish.

- Brick color and aromas of chocolate, blackberry, black pepper and oak. It's balanced and has flavours of black pepper, blackberry and chocolate with a full body. Round texture with a long finish - Decanted one hour. Layers of richness, some hints of mint on the nose too.

I think Paul Simon said it best when he wrote about this wine, "Hello Darkness my old friend". Because though it had been a couple of years and vintages since I last had this treat, it was as if we had never been away from each other. What a cool wine. Super dark in all ways. Blind I'd guess petite sirah; it's all Blackberry and brambles. Round and big and just coats your mouth and teeth Massive bitter tannins - give it some time in the decanter or cellar. But really fun and interesting. A hit in the zinfandel/rhone/big red blend category. Will try to get hands on more of this as it's super fun, particularly at $33!

A little foggy on this as it was in the middle of a line-up (from last night). Impression of enjoyability and quality.

This wine never disappoints. A big, ripe, juicy California red. A slightly more complex Prisoner.

Easy drinker , has fruit and some body . This wine is a simple crowd pleaser at 32 bucks . Hard to go wrong . Have bought 2 vintages of this wine and both have been consistent with this note.

We popped open this bottle to end the evening. Impressive! 32% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Petite Sirah, 10% Petit Verdot, 10% Syrah, 9% Charbono...where is the kitchen sink!? Nice body, a "teeth coater". Great with or without food. Nice finish. A very easy drinking red.

There's nothing special about this wine to justify the $35+ price tag. Muted nose, short finish, some mild cherry flavors but with a high (15.5%) alcohol bite at the end. Wife described it as "nail polish" but I'll be more generous and say this needs a long sleep in the cellar. Maybe its the vintage, this being my first red from 2014.

Classic Bob Foley flavors in a brighter, younger blend. Perfect to drink while you wait for your Howell Mountain bottles to age!
