Rieslingfreak Riesling No. 2

{screwcap, 10.5%} What a fabulous thing this is. Still pale straw. Vivid nose and palate of musk, talc, lychee and lime, with just a hint of apple. Initially almost spritzy in its lively texture, with medium acidity which does settle with time. Something like a firecracker in the mouth, appropriately for new year's eve! Light/medium weight, bone dry, never unripe, and with a medium/long finish. Terrific wine now, might keep and evolve; no experience!

{screwcap, 10.5%} Fermented to dry, and this low in alcohol. How’s the ripeness? Smells of wet stones, limestone, some lime fruit, lychees. Very pure. The palate is very dry, almost raspingly so, but not because of screeching acidity, which is medium/high but soft and rounded. Juicy texture, mouth-watering, light/medium-bodied, clean on the evenly balanced palate. Finishes dry, but it’s not all citrus at all, it has a much furrier character, like a fine talc powder or riesling equivalent. Very young …
