Fun bottle, and an unusual blend. Primarily Syrah notes, especially blackberry and vanilla with a bit of spice. But what distinguishes this is a bit of pinot energy, adding some bite—and a little less “bigness” that I’m not used to from an American Syrah.

I drank this over a two day period, day two being better. Luxurious mouth feel and viscosity. Big flavors ad well balanced but can certainly use 3-4 years more bottle age. Check again in 2020!

Significant bouquet of Syrah imparted elements, with appealing Pinot Noir accents. The most distinctive presentation of Syrah of the vintages I have tasted, peppery, meaty, and mineral ore driven. It held together beautifully over four days. Let it rest for several years; it might improve.
