Deep golden color. Explosive notes of grapefruit, citrus zest, honey, flower blossoms, steely minerality. Pretty full bodied but full of tension, with high acidity cutting through the richness, sweet but superbly balanced by the acidity. Beautiful and very complex TBA.

Great flavors, I love this stuff. Surprising that the color was as bronzed at this age, dark gold. Sweet apricot flavors and mouth coating viscosity. Lower on the acid scale, more of which I think would substantially improve the wine. Don't get me wrong, it's yummy and paired with a honey soufflé was perfect.

Bronze/straw yellow center, pale yellow rim, modest signs of age. Dense, fruity, muscat/grapey, quince jelly, a little citrus. Sweet, smooth, some balancing acidity, limes, flowery, some petrol and almonds, some quince on the finish. Very good sweet wine. Will probably improve over the next 5 years.

From a split. Light gold in colour. Sauternes-like nose, with orange peel, burnt sugar, almond extract, and some floral notes as well. Relatively thin in texture on the palate, and missing some of the heavier elements in higher-numbered Kracher cuvees. Quite light, never cloying. Notes of almonds, yellow stone fruits, and burnt sugar. Slightly bitter on the medium-length finish, and slightly hot from the alcohol.

From a split. Relatively light colour, but that's probably owing to the fact that this is one of the lower numbered cuvees as well as a relatively young wine. Nose of clover honey, sharpie marker, dried apricots, and dried citrus peel. On the palate, this is relatively lightweight compared to the other Krachers that I've had, with the taste again of clover honey. On the other hand, the alcohol here is slightly disjoint, and juts out in an ungainly way …

I guess this is my benchmark for a noble rot wine. Even its modest clear bottle gives a hint as to what beauty is inside and how it is made. Simple, pure, clean and amazing elegance attached to it in the nose and on the palate.
