Foley Estates Chardonnay Bar Lazy S Ranch Sta. Rita Hills

Beautiful golden yellow color with toasted bread and lemon butter on the nose. Full on the palate with some zesty acidity up front morphing into tropical fruits and a hint of butterscotch. Finish is still packing a bit of zing with ripe pineapple and a clean tart finish. This is a great example of the melding of the big rich Chards from the 80s an 90s and the cleaner and crisper versions from the last decade. An excellent wine.

The above review is for the Pinot, not the Chard. This Chard was fabulous! Complex, great minerality, nice acid balance with an elegant touch of oak. I recall citrus notes and a touch of mango...but it was a week ago. :) Love a wonderful Sta Rita Hills Chardonnay.
