Jean-Pierre Guyon Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Brulées

2022 JPG Tasting. 13.5% Bottle breath for 3-3.5hrs. As per the name, smokier on the nose, roasted Asian spices. Love the violet, sweet blue fruits and hoisin sauce medley. Very complex. Again, elegant on the palate compared to the other wines but less so than the Orveaux. Excellent fine tannin that almost fully integrated already and almost unnoticeable 100% new oak. Persistent and powerful finish. 70yrs vines, 100% new oak and tri en nuage.

2022 Jean-Pierre Guyon dinner : Fresh strawberries and some smoked tea notes on the nose. Very pretty, sappy red fruit on the palate with a superb texture. Terrific balance between power and elegance here, definitely an iron fist in velvet glove type of wine. My favourite in the flight.

Jean Pierre Guyon 2022 with some extras (Pandomainium) : Spice, plummy, touch of smokey notes, dense on the palate with rough tannins.

Early barrel sample tasted with Jean-Pierre Guyon. Deep sweet purple and black fruit (cherry, blackberry, cassis). Some spices and floral notes showing. Touch of smoke from gunflint - found in the vineyard soil. Too young to score but anticipating 91-93pts.
