Not the import version. Brought back the local version from the winery. Nice dark fruit, round and smooth, with soft tannins. Paired well with a rare rib eye.

this wine has characteristic opaque malbec color, very nice nose of leather upon opening. Quite round, fruit forward like a syrah with a short finish. Absence of spice and low tannins but high perception of alcohol for me. 87 Really opened up nicely on day 2. Oddly seemed more tannic, lush, and smokey. So much more enjoyable -- would recommend a long decant. 89

Dark, youthul. Nose is of damson with green pepper and dried herbs. The palate is refined and elegant, tannins totally integrated but there's also powerful damson and bluberry fruit that comes through with a peppery, long finish. Drinking beautifully now, one of the best Argie Malbec's I have tasted.

Notably better from a coffee mug than a plastic juice cup (although I suppose both the former bottle was only in my backpack for two days of trudging down the Vacas valley, the later three). All kidding aside, even well handled bottles are a bit souless, heavy handed and missing nuance. Not sure why Bosca's wines nowadays command a local price premium.

An extremely good Malbec. Fruit and Oak. Deep rich color. Smooth finish. Well balanced. One of the oldest Malbecs from Argentinia.

This is one of those big, over-the-top, and richly creamy wines that I love. There, the self-disclosure is done...Nose is light, but layered with savory and sweet spice with black fruit, kirsch, and smoke. Palate is full and mouthcoating with chewy-but-very-fine tannins. Blackberry, very sweet ripe black cherries, kirsch, and nutmeg, allspice, and just a touch of fresh turmeric root. Acidity is medium and finish is medium to long. Nice wine. I need to buy more.

Needs awhile to open up, but shows a med-full body, dark fruits, plenty of oak. Vanilla, cassis, plum. Medium finish.

Inky. Very aromatic with plums and mocha. Plush on palate with semi-harsh tannins that settled over the 2 hours of consumption. Black cherry, plums, spice and mocha chocolate on a medium finish. Nice wine. Didn't get the heavy oak that other tasters stated. Recommend decanting. Took a while for the tannins to settle.

I'm not sure why I repurchased this wine or rated it as highly as I did before. I found it out of balance and too fruity this time. Maybe it has gone downhill or I just had a bum bottle.

Tasted second day open. Deep crimson with pink edges. Quite round with soft sweet tannins and not as bold or dark as many Malbec's. I doubt the wine's best days are as far in the future as 2016. Slightly thin on the front, rounding more into form in the back. Underripe plums, cola, orange, rasberry. Slightly sweet pleasant finish albeit not particularly long.

Funny thing about this one; it was best just after opening - it actually deteriorated during the hour or so that we were drinking it. After an hour, it tasted like it had been open 1-2 days. The first glass was quite decent. Based on this, I would think the current drinking horizon is highly speculative (and that's being charitable).

Lots of fruit and oak. Not terribly comlex but very good. Great balance, nice acidity, and awesome finish. Spicy. Not an overwhelmingly big malbec, which is nice. Will have to buy more.

This was a quick score given at dinner at Del Friscos. Clearly the environment could have had a inflationary effect of the number. We had a great time at the restaurant. This was a sommelier recommendation but as usual the markup was ridiculous. If you HAVE to get wine at a steak place and you do not do corkage, this one will not disappoint. Good value for a retail wine. Sorry...not a lot of tasting notes here...if I pick one …

Elegant and very well balanced. Lot of red fruits and vanilla. Medium to full bodied, round, nice tannins. Enjoyable. I'm not shure it worth to cellar it for more time.

Drank from 1.5L magnum. After a quick 30 min. decant. The nose brought elements of blackberry, spice and some tar.Smooth and velvety on the pallate with echoes from the nose as well as bright acidity on the finish. Quite complex for a Malbec. would buy again.

A lighter color for this varietal with very fresh berry and cherry aromas including smoky mocha. Also unlike most malbec this is a rather stylish, medium bodied wine with an element of refined softness. Freshness is the theme here with red berry and cherry fruit including a defined cranberry acidity. Nuances of smoke, minerals, and oak work their way in and add to the overall dimension. The finish has a touch of acidity and leaves the palate quite quickly. This …

88-89 Deep dark ruby; Dark fruit - blackberry, cassis - loam; A vibrant full bodied palate, the flavors follow with the addition of dark blueberry. Good acidity and structure (formidable tannins) will make maturing this for 2-3 years a winner I think. Medium to long smooth finish.

Not bad for the price but I've definately had better Malbecs. Their was some subtle fruit on the nose, a mix of sour cherry and stewed blackberries but I noticed a bit of tar in the glass. After about an hour of decanting I tasted strong Kirsch flavours of licorice, prune and menthol. A medium to full-bodied wine that lacked refinement on the finish. It could improve with time but I'm not totally convinced.

This is the most old world malbec out of Argentina I've ever tried. Some fruit (mostly blackberry) but then tarragon, dried leaves, violet, and earth. However, it was largely flat and not particularly well integrated. I'll pass on this when getting another Malbec.

Deep purple-blue hue on this wine. Strong nose with notes of dark fruit and sweet oak. Smooth in the palate and maybe a bit too smooth and hint of some residual sugar, brown sugar. I missed some tannic grip to tackle my filet. Nice effort but for the price it lacks the subtleness and elegance of the Old World. $17.99 @ GWL in Astoria.
