1805 Cabernet Sauvignon

A bit more acidic at the outset than I prefer, but that can be addressed by use of a Vinturi or by decanting. Very much a proper cabernet, with the characteristic cigar-box cedar notes and blackberry, along with plummy and eucalyptus character. Medium finish. Not extremely intense, but a fine choice for a low-priced cab that nonetheless doesn't taste like generic red wine. If you can find this in the $10 range, it's a very good value.

Deep ruby color, alcohol on the nose, the first taste is unripe fruit, with some raspberry overtones. The finish is smooth but rather flat. Overall doesn't offend but doesn't excite.
