Deep ruby, moderate nose of red cherry, black plum, earth, mushroom, slight must, and a touch of violet, opens up on the palate with deep red, spiced fruit, medium plus acidity, medium plus tannins, strong acidity, all driven by strong minerality, finish is all Burgundy with dark cherry fruit, earth, umami, spice, a touch of tar, and mineral driven length Note: Not always a fan of Beaune, often low QPR, but this Avaux is worth the splurge
