Very pale straw. A very pretty, somewhat delicate, and in the context of Nikolaihof - very fruit driven nose offers aromas of green apple, honeydew melon, yellow flowers, lemon confit, tarragon, and crushed stones. On the palate this feels more like a Nikolaihof wine, brimming with savory flavors of masa, straw and rocks. It is just medium bodied and feels dry, with medium+ acidity and a simple, easygoing sort of feel. I'd appreciate a little more cut here, but this …

Some slate and diesel on the nose. Fairly rich, with white fruit and a salty finish. Some malo character on the finish. Better as it saw a little air and warmed up.

Lemon oil, petrol, tire rubber, white peach. Linear & high acid on the palate with good length and persistence. Seems to be aging very slowly. Could use a bit more mineral intensity for me.

Beautiful yin and yang between earth notes and fruit energy (or is it strum and drang, where the brooding is joyous?). Poise and equipoise here. Architecture but make it charming. Fine stuff and worth tucking into a bottle if you have some. Yum!

Moderate lemon in the glass. Nose is complex, interesting. I got that ham note one of the tasters below mentioned, complemented by nectarine, ripe citrus fruit of all kinds, peach. Medium-bodied with a pronounced acidity and some nice weight to it. This will keep on giving in the years to come, great QPR.

Visits in the Wachau and Kamptal; 10/4/2023-10/5/2023 (In and around the Wachau and Kamptal, Lower Austria) : The nose is fresh and lively with tones of lemon peels, apples, mineral notes, white fruits, saline, nectarines, acacia flowers, and pears. There is excellent balance with a real deftness that I'm enjoying. The Medium bodied feel shows off the liveliness of the nose with tart, high acidity. This is just a flat out fun Riesling that hits every note you want it …

Beautiful Austrian Riesling. One of the reasons I’m buying more dry Riesling from Austrian producers compared to German is due to wines like this. Lots of balance, savory umami (think ham hock), but still enough weight of fruit to be true to the grape. Dense but seemingly light on its feet. Wonderful with or without food. Highly recommended.

Light flaxen. Delicate and pure, stone fruit, apples. Light and delicate on the palate as well. Spicy. Good length. Extremely enjoyable.

Savory on the nose. Smells and tastes like chicken stock. Darn they push these dry. To me, while I recognize these wines are great, theve gone too far. Harvested too early, has too little rs meaning fermented too dry. Just a thought but on the verge of being esoteric.

Nose was somewhat muted. Fruit cocktail, light slate and some floral notes. I expected this to be more chiseled and angular but it was rounded and easy to drink. Ann loved it. Not bad, but I was a little disappointed, truthfully. Maybe this would improve and shed some fat with age?

Stone fruit, minerals, apricot, and lemon oil on the nose. Great acidity with tart stone fruit, citrus, and crushed rocks on the palate. Nice finish. Really delicious and drinking so well already. Very impressive Federspiel. 92-93+
