Black and red cherry with some meaty element, all maturing gracefully. Similar to my previous bottle opened in 2023, just with the structure slightly more pronounced.

Amazing. Still holding up and delicious. Perfect for romcom Netflix night.

A bit shocked to report that this could use a bit more time in the cellar. Great fruit in no danger of drying out, but acidity and tannins are prevalent enough that I’d hold. Of course, as Hardy Wallace put it: “…how ripe do you like your banana?”

Black and red cherry with moderate weight, still wonderfully fresh with no shortage of structure, yet very good balance. Good now, easily holding for 5+ more years.

Prior bottle was to-the-day seven months ago and my notes were essentially unchanged. Red cherry and forest floor notes on the nose with floral highlights. Medium bodied with the same mix of black and red cherry upfront with a nice blend of brightness and rounder, softer, more open notes. Mid-body continues to show very good integration while bringing in more black cherry notes and some plum qualities. Pleasantly tart black fruit, balanced spices, earth notes and mineral qualities on the …

It is at a nice place now. Fine pinot nose. Dense with bright red and black fruits. It has a hint of the Oregon/US cola flavour but it is well integrated. Overall the wine is well made and has a fine balance.

Bright red cherry, forest floor and floral notes on the nose. Medium Bodied (13.5% ABV) with red cherry upfront, showing some bright notes and some deeper black cherry qualities as well. Mid-body is integrated and open showcasing pretty black cherry and some darker plum notes. Backside has some tart red berries, combined with balanced spice and earth notes. The wine is able to showcase classic Oregon pinot notes and a solid frame, while keeping everything in balance. Took about three …

Summer Makes a Comeback (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)) : Light medium red color. PNP, drank 2 glasses over 90 minutes. Drank this next to a '10 Temperance Hill. Earth, briar, vanilla, red fruits on the nose. The palate has red fruits, dark red berries, wood, with more prominent tannins. Side by side, the FH comes off more sullen and deeper with firmer tannins and less overall brightness, which is more a reflection of how good the TH than anything …

An Unintended Birthday Dinner (Margaux's Table, White Bear Lake, MN) : Medium dark red color. PNP, drank 1 glass over 2 hours, and another small glass 2 nights later. A testament to this wine and it's aging curve, this was noticeably better 2 days later. I'm not sure you need to lay off them, but if you have a couple give one a chance to sit a bit. The purity of the 2010 vintage is on fine display, the pretty …

Medium dark red color. PNP, split bottle over 3 hours. I had forgotten I'd had this just under 4 years ago. It was very good then and a bit better now. Clearly ready for prime time now. The fruit here is quite striking, very pure and pretty. Red cherry and red berries, subtle earth and and good spice notes. The palate shows lovely tone, medium body, red cherry, red raspberry, nice spices, subtle anise, and a touch of sauvage on …

Superb Oregon pinot... blows the 2010 AS Looney Vineyard out of the bark. Big, delicious, wonderful mouth feel. Enjoy one now if you got it.

agree with others on the tasting notes, but with how light the tannins are, I'm not sure how long this can go. I would drink sooner than later

Similar to prior, lovely pinot, still developing, but quite tasty now. Nose with black raspberry, black cherry, baking spice, just a hint of vanilla. Palate is lovely, with nice depth, great fruit, and still quite elegant. Well made pinot. Still has at least 5-8 years of upside if not more.

Nice example of Oregon pinot. Nose is filled with cherry, cranberry, raspberry, damp leaves, iris, and a hint of spice. The palate is balanced and really tasty with plenty of extract, but not overwhelming. Will definitely develop more.

brick red color, brambly fragrant nose. this was medium+ bodied, and quite tannic (agree with other folks' "stemmy" comments), with lovely cherry and sage notes. Just a delicious effort and drinking fine Day 2 did not add anything - I'd recommend a quick decant if any

Not as good as the Shea Vineyard from the same year. Could go a year more. A bit of PN stemminess in the finish. Not tremendously complex.

Thin, too thin. Ok but minimal fruit on the nose. Aerated the wine without any appreciable improvement.

Raspberry, cherry, damp earth. Nice weight on the palate with plenty of acidity to make it delicious with salmon.

Dark in color for a pinot with high toned red fruit that dominates the palate initially (at cellar temp). Red cherry, raspberry, a hints of mineral. With warming some baking spices, clove and cardamom come through. Not much of the classic earthy smell that I often find in WV Pinot. The palate is very well balanced with minimal, sweet tannin, well integrated oak (I would not have guessed 30% new had I not seen it on the bottle) and acidity …

Decanted 4 hours prior to dinner. Classic violet color. Nose of cinnamon, earth, spice, rhubarb, and watermelon. Juicy palate follows with much of the same plus ripe cherries, herbs, tea, and a slight note of cola. Finish was flat until about the 6 hour mark when it revealed delicate tannins and a lingering zesty finish. Overall, a conservative Pinot most will like. It's balanced, compact, and will age well for 5+ more years. Paired with whole fish grilled king salmon, …

The first SI wine that I really enjoyed in total. Pretty fruit forward nose with a touch of spice. Nice texture in the mouth and well balanced. Fun bottle to drink with friends and hits above its price.

Killer juice. Reminds me of a Morey St Denis, with it's gorgeous melange of earth and fruit. Soaring and pure aromatics, the fruit is clean and deep. Built to age but approachable with a serious decant.

EWG Oregon Pinot Dinner at Roy's (Roy's Hawiian Cuisine) : Stems, nettles, brown spices (like light gravy--maybe I was smelling Conrad's short ribs!); medium tannins, medium long sour cherry finish. did anyone else get the earthy spices I got?

EWG Tastes Oregon Wines - April 21, 2013 (Roy's Pasadena) : Over the years I have started to enjoy the Freedom Hill Vineyard. In the past I just found them too backwards and a bit dull. But it seems with vine age and learning the vineyard more, FH is not producing top notch wines. Dark, brawny and spicy. This needs to just be left alone for 5-8 years. Probably not for everyone.
