Wine opens to licorice/anise and rhubarb and plum. Flavor is balanced with menthol flavors on the tongue and mildly spicy finish.

Popped and poured. Medium-plus ruddy garnet hue. Pronounced aromas of well-ripened black fruits, currant, barbecue spices, and roasted sweet corn. Within 10 minutes or so the nose opens to show smoked herbs and an intriguing note of menthol. Medium-plus body. On the palate, flavors of dark fruits again show quite ripe but are balanced by interesting flavors of mint, rosemary, toasted spices, and smokey oak. Nose of cedar and leather. The fruit is dark berry and undistinguished. Big impact, no subtlety or layering.

Surprised me with a strong nose, full of fruit, blackberry, other berries, perhaps, strawberry. Excellent color, deep garnet, medium bodied, taste has a slight sweetish finish after a spicy vanilla start. Finish is reasonably long, tannins are smooth, easy to drink by itself

A little weak compared to previous bottles. End of the road? I'm not sure, I have one bottle of '03 left. I'm going to drink it soon.

Nice wine. Had with steak, which went well. Black fruit with medium finish and body. Thought the 02 Claret was better.

Lovely, smooth Cabernet. Tannins had eased significantly in this wine. Not hugely bodied, but flavorful and enjoyable.

A good but no overly complex CS. Nice finish with reduced tanin for a CS. Acceptable leg and run. Fruit tones were soft but present, smoke was limited. Paired nicely with a filet and madeira reduction.

Double-decanted, and used a straining funnel, as I'd noted some sediment in the bottle. Also some buildup was on the cork. Nothing amiss in the bottle. Nice showing for the Coppola Claret. A bit lighter than some of the more recent vintages I've tried. As others have noted, there were blackberries & other black fruits present.

Still earthy, but smooth. Drink up, this isn't getting any better. At this point, probably past its prime and heading downhill. Medium to full body. Dark plum coloring.

Way past its prime. You can tell from the frist taste that whatever used to be in the bottle is no longer there. While not corked yet, the dark fruits that I expected were very muted and watered down. If you have any in your cellar, drink it now.

Dusty, whole berry cluster smells with the stems and all, but without that vibrant smell of mashed fruit and fresh juice. On the palate, the fruit flavors have faded quite a bit. Still there, very dry, but it's not enough to balance out the oak flavors that are really showing through. Very nice, and it got better with each glass - It was very dark, very fruit forward with vanilla oak accents, it had medium concentration, quite complex and dry on the palate with a nice finish, nicely done (89 Points)

Dark garnet in color. Sweet spices on the nose with notes of currants, blackberries and black cherries. As sweet as an overly-ripe Zinfandel on the mid-palate and tannins are almost gone. None of the raisiny flavors found on the 2004. Definitely this is a better vintage and although it lacks the elegance of its European counterpart, it has enough style and personality to make it a great sipping wine.

Dark fruit, mild, slightly bitter tannins sticking to my teeth. Not particularly aromatic and a bit too sweet. A hint of clove. Decent viscocity and color - sticks to the glass. One dimensional with little grip and structure. Decent drinking wine.

I'm with jdunnuck on this. Quite better than epected with a nice blackberry/strawberry nose with a hint of white chocolate. Very nice flavors with a hint of clove toppping the black fruit. Very drinkable and bound to be a crowd pleaser, especially at this price point.

A bit too hot for a Cab. Had after 2 bottles of the 2004 Ex Libris Cab, which is much softer and more subtle - probably a mistake.
