Surprise bottle opened by Charles at spring release 2025 party at the Farm. What a treat. There are those rare times in life where you have a wine that absolutely, unequivocally reminds you of: 1) the first time you fell in love with wine 2) the first time you realized the capabilities of what a fermented grape can do 3) the time when you think wine can no longer surprise you and it absolutely does 4) when you tell yourself, …

1 hour in glass. V - Clear, medium garnet with medium meniscus and high viscosity N - Cherry, blackberry and black currant. Baking spices and a hint of graphite. P - Mirrors the nose with good interplay. Palate a bit lighter than expected - a bit more elegant than I remembered - but also has a good amount of heat - additional glasses were smoother. S - Dry, med+ body, 14+ alc, Fine/med tannins. Long finish with Med+complexity. I prefer …

We first tasted this at the tasting room in Walla Walla when it was released and it tasted and smelled like nothing, just a wall of tannin. Some 8 years later, much has changed and in a very good way! The nose immediately showcased notable aromas of menthol, charcoal, olive, charcuterie, game, and blue fruits. It picked up notable depth and weight after 3-4 hours in the decanter, at which point notes of candied raspberry, celery root, coffee, and licorice …

This was a decent wine. Served at my clubs bbq held inside because of the rain. I was not a big fan. Others at the table were. The nose was all fruit leading to a palate of fruit, earth, wood and spice. The finish was moderate to long.

I probably would have enjoyed this more if I drank a few years ago. Tasting mature now - as the fruit is a little syrupy. Garnet, significant meniscus. Nose is dark fruit, chocolate. Palate complex with black raspberry, blackberry and black currant. Floral and green notes after just chalk on the nose. Full bodied. Med acidity.

Delicious blend of Stoneridge Cab (75%) and Royal Slope Syrah (25%). It has the best of all worlds, black and red fruits, lead pencil, smoke, baseball glove, violets, tar, cigar tobacco, mocha, man, it has it all! Tannins have fully resolved into a silky, smooth sweetness and there is enough acid to hold it together for several more years. Luscious, balanced and velvety. Almost weightless for all that's going on.

No decant, pnp, initial reaction - The nose is not as pronounced as I would like (I compare to Quilceda Cab, or a Reynvaan or Cayuse Syrah). It is lighter in appearance than I expected and I would say it’s lighter bodied - a little bit racy. I was hoping for richer softer more mouth coating - a different mid palate experience. Dark fruits, cola, tobacco, vanilla and spice. Finish is decent. The ratings are relative to the price point …

Started super tight. Fruit emerged after a 30 min decant. Continued to evolve over an hour and was gone.

Popped and poured. Somewhat tight on the pop, this opened up nicely with a little bit of air. Cassis and blackberry fruits, baking spices, black tea and espresso on the finish. Has years of development ahead. Drink now - 2033.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70%) and Syrah (30%), co-fermented together with indigenous yeasts. Macerated for 41 days on the skins. Aged for 22 months in French barriques (50% new). 14,5% alcohol, 5,1 g/l acidity, pH 4,02. Quite translucent youthful ruby red with moderate translucency. Very ripe, youthful and sweet nose with prominent cassis aromas, ripe dark berries, sweet cocoa oak, some jammy blackcurrant character, a little bit of plum compote, a hint of cardamom-driven sweet baking spice and a …

Big boy wine here, still wound tight even after a 4 hour decant. Deep purple color, prominent tannins, solid fruit. Should age beautifully for 20+ years.
