Much more open for business as a pop-and-pour compared to back in 2016. A touch syrupy initially, but it becomes very well integrated with aeration. Drank well for over 5 hours. In my book this is the best Anniversary release of the last three years. 93-94

Opened tonight to compare to XXI. I wasn't a huge fan of this guy fresh, as I felt its components were too disparate. Given a year to sit and meld, this is a much more cohesive brew, showing off plenty of wood and a touch of vanilla behind monstrous cacao notes. I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I think age has done this well.

This is coming through as a bit sweet initially, but then it develops layers of complexity over an hour's time, shifting from a background of molasses to one of cola while developing tart as well as spice notes, followed by a hoppy touch on the finish. 13% ABV. Would like to revisit in 3 months.
