Enjoyed with Chinese food. Really great. Lots of dark fruit balanced with charcoal / smoke. Long finish. Probably nearing end of its prime years.

Pride makes a superb Sangiovese for California. Still drinking fine. Integrated tannins. A little dust and oak, with a good dose of dark berries and a hint of red fruit, with smoke and earth. Not as much "wow" factor as some of the other vintages, but solid and satisfying.

What a great surprise. According to the WA drinking window, this is past its prime, but I thought it was really tasty. Had an Italian nose and a California palate. Nose was dusty, earthy, but with brambly fruit and a streak of blackberry. The palate was warm red fruit, with hints of sweetness, and a decently long finish. (PE: 92)

Color still decent, although there is some bricking. The nose is a little fat, with black and sweet red fruit showing through with some earth. A little sweet. Maybe some cherries. Maybe some strawberry. Perhaps some oxidation starting, although there is still some acid on the finish. Light bodied. Past its peak. Drink up.

A nice balanced sweetness although a fairly light mouth feel. Good acid makes it work and it continues to be one of the few Napa Sangiovese that don't totally suck.

Maybe it was because we were drinking it next to a 97 Tignanello, but I thought this was just way too sweet. Not bad, but not something i'll come back to anytime soon. 1 left and it will sit for a few years.

The nose of this wine is lush and dark with scents of blackraspberries, dark chocolate covered cherries and blueberry jam. The taste is balanced and concentrated with flavors of black raspberries and cherries and blueberries. The finish is long on dark fruit.

My trip to Napa, Part 2: Barrel tasting at Pride Mountain (Napa Valley, California, USA) : From barrel. When this is bottled if is normally 75% Sangiovese and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. I was excited to try just the pure Sangiovese juice. Leather and black cherry dominated. This could never be confused with an old-world Sangiovese, but I liked it without the Cabernet.
