Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of about an hour. No formal notes. Sourced from an acre parcel right next to Gouttes d’Or, the 2022 “En Luraule” is richly textured and endowed with good fruit, character and substance. A touch reductive. My first experience with Jobard and hope to cross paths with it again sometime; especially with more time. 50/50 barrique and foudre; the former approximately 20% new. Drink now through 2037.

Impressively fresh fruit after all this time. Nose has citrus fruits, butter, flowers, melons and liquorice. Quite complex and very interesting nose. The palate still has lots of power and is very good. Big and mature. But the acidity is almost lacking completely. This can be both because of the vintage and the age. Color light gold, nose of crushed fennel, anise, citrus blossom and a stoney minerality. Palate well balanced with hints of almond and melon fruit sweetness, but also a dry, searching grippy richness. An accessible and lighter rather than denser expression of meursault, but fantastic and a great hit with all. 'This is why you drink white burgundy' said one of us, and I agree!

A bright Golden yellow with a faint hint of green. Full, rich, creamy, but not so broad it felt flimsy or overaged. Notes of pineapple and flint on the nose with almond showing up as it opened and hints of nutmeg and cinnamon. Palate was dominated by almond paste and a flinty minerality but had great secondary notes of ripe lemon and nutmeg. As it opens the balance between fruit/almond and mineral was impeccable. Great structure, focus and length! Really …
