Wren Hop Chardonnay Slow Drive

Prior bottle was 8 months ago and my notes were similar, but unfortunately, balance didn't improve as I'd hoped. Lemon, white orchard fruits and still a good amount of oak/vanilla on the nose. Medium bodied, maybe a touch beyond with mixed, white orchard fruits the dominant fruit note initially and then broadening through the middle. Apple, lemon and other citrus notes along with a moderate amount of oak on the nose. Between medium and full bodied (14.2% ABV) a mix of white orchard fruits upfront and through the middle, backed with tart citrus qualities and creaminess on the back. Moderate amount of oak/vanilla on the backside that's generally in balance with the fruit. The creaminess helps bring the orchard fruit notes and the citrus qualities together well. Big and boisterous Chardonnay with deep gold color. Has citrus and oaky notes and flavorful as well as powerful. It exudes strength without being overbearing. Rich and hedonistic but still in balance. Nice bit of acidity to hold it altogether.

Solid Chardonnay settling in to optimum drinking window. Citrus notes initially soften on the back end with tropical fruit- unripened mango. Good structure with nice oak application. Pretty heady and powerful. Good acidity.

Very special. Wonderful blend of citrus notes highlighted by lemon and honeydew. Not biting at the one end or cloying at the other. Like Goldilocks - just right. Glad I have five bottles left.

I always think of Foghat’s “Slow Ride” blasting out of my doubled-up Advent speakers in my college dorm room- bold, brash, and exhilarating- when I drink this wine. Big and spicy with great acidity. Both tropical and citrus notes. Totally awesome and unique. Crank it up one more time!!

Lush lemon, lime nose. Creamery ripe melon flavors with a wonderful, full mouth feel. This is a big Chardonnay. Great on it’s own or with foods that bring the flavor.

Outstanding Chardonnay featuring tropical and orchard fruit with citrus present. Nice deft touch of oak. Elegant and sophisticated. Able to pair nicely with food, I though grilled shrimp or oysters on the half shell, or stand on its own. Maybe even a note of salinity. Very good!
