No decant, wine immeadetely was generously open when cork was out. Dark color. Dark fruit, black current, chocolate, tobacco. Medium and silky finish but not as charming as I expirienced in other vintages. This one -although clearly a californian- was a bit Bordeaux-ish in the finish. Drink up.

At 29 years old - not bad Decanted for over an hour prior to drinking. Color was good with a slight tinge of brown at the edge. The body was medium weight, the clarity was very good (I used a strainer). Not a lot going on at the beginning, middle to end had some berry flavors , the finish was thin. Nothing wrong with this but not dynamic. Everyone that had it enjoyed it.

Somehow had this bottle sold in my country (A rarity) and did an event with this wine at my restaurant. I was quite surprised how elegant a Berringer can be, especially for a 100% Cab Sav. My friend had a blind tasting session with many of his wine snob friends. And all of them thought it was a left bank 1st growth Bordeaux. The look on their faces when it was revealed was hilarious according to him. I understand why …

Delicate but still good verve. Earthy and dark rust color. Classic aged cab

Very good classic Cali cab. Mature fruit and a fair amount of nuance and depth in the more mid-weight style that California use to do more often. It may be starting to dry out, so I wouldn't wait too much longer to drink.

Drank the last of this vintage and in my opinion it is at or just past its peak. Last prior bottle consumed was about two years ago and while I cannot compare taste to then it is getting a little thin. Drink up 26 years is a pretty good run

really nice (wasn't too optimistic honestly), nose -- which rarely entices me -- was kinda amazing... I thought rubber ball / new plastic toys, my son thought BBQ sauce... whatever you got it was potent... palate had great acidity and some nice underlying fruit with spice

This has aged well and retained intensity and power. Not too much evolution into Bordeaux aromas of age. Just slightly introverted next to the singing Opus one.

Fantastic. People drink high end Napa cabs way too early. I disagree with others. I think this has lots left in the tank. Long smooth Finish with lots of fruit left. Not really a barnyard funk that you get with older Italian or Bordeaux wines. Which I miss. Yet a really elegant high end wine. The finish goes on forever with just the right amount of acid balanced with the alcohol. Nice tannins. But again not in the same tannin …

Older Californians Surt & Turf Dinner (McKay's, The American Club, Exchange Square, Central, Hong Kong) : More purple tinged than the ‘87 we drank alongside it. Semi transparent lightening at the edges.Nose is lovely warm and welcoming new oak, cassis, belly-filling red and black currant fruit. Mocha. Still has a bit of alcohol not yet integrated but paired well with the spice and pepper of the steak tartare. Hedonistic but definitely a change in winemaking style compared to the less …

This wine has been so under appreciated by many cellar tracker aficionados imo. Colour red brick meniscus with dark red concentrated centre. Forget the predominate legs just glycerol furthermore no jammy taste either! Nose predominately soft vanilla oak & red fruit plus cassis with subtle black current lozenge aromas and a hint of spice. I thoroughly enjoyed the 1995 but this way more complex when tasting now. The whole mouth feel is in balance with wonderful black fruit, fresh acidity …

Burde vært drukket tidligere. Veldig moden frukt. Litt lite syre. Fremdeles litt frukt på nesen, men slapp i munnen.

Beringer CS Reserve is a favorite of mine and this vintage lives up to it. Lots of tobacco and earth accompanied by robust tannins. Not much life left in it but still great. Super finish that delicately lingers in the mouth.

Method: 1 hr 40 minute decant, rebottled and tasted about 1 hour 20 minutes later; 63 degrees; Cab glass; the cork showed slight signs of wine going up the cork a bit but the staining was incredibly light, except for near the bottom of the cork, and there was no seepage (acquired the bottle from Benchmark Wines a few months ago). Look: medium garnet; medium- amount of medium speed legs Nose: mulled plum, cinnamon, clove, blue berry, light cigar box …

Deep garnet color turning tawny brown at the rim with a transparent edge. The nose gives off old leather, dried herbs, cola, and toasted oak on dark berries. The palate is old, matured, and has reached its peak, but will hold for at least five more years. Flavors of ripe blackberry, blueberry, raspberry compote are still very evident. However, the medium level acidity may not be able to keep it going as long as I’ve hoped. Secondary flavors of dark …

bright red color with brick at the rim, lovely mature Cabernet nose, cassis, hints of meat and bell pepper, on the palate sensationally good, plums, cherries, saddle leather, genteel waves of chalk, ripe and pure fruit at its peak, fine long finish with perfumes of sweet aged fruit, a classic California Cabernet and what we all dream of when laying bottles down, the only thing keeping this from 5 stars for me is a slight lack of complexity- but I …

To my palate a 90-91. If you disregard the jam, perhaps a 93-94? How to objectively score... take the midpoint 92? I'll go 91 for my own records... Double decanted for chunky sediment and drank over two hours. Ripe, modestly jammy and bit cloyingly sweet with a sweet finish. I found it hard to enjoy. Perhaps with more air the jammyness dies down?

Showing slight signs of age with a little bricking and sediment. Leather, dried cherry, tobacco, herbs and a hint of spice on the nose. Classic aged Napa Cab. Acidity was still evident, tannins are still there especially after letting this open up after 30 minutes. Tobacco, oak, herbs and spices, red berries, showing signs of classic Napa Cabernet. This is in it’s prime right now and would definitely drink now. Still has life ahead of it but don’t see it …

This wine really delivered what you would hope a 20+ year old Napa Cab would. Beautiful dark fruit, lovely mouth feel, nice complexity and a long finish. Still has good life ahead but perfect now. 1/2 hour decant.

Not bad at all! Sweet aromas with hints of mocca and chocolate. Medium bodied, nicely integrated tannins. Decanted for an hour and a half, after an hour in the glass it is still developing. I don't think it will get much better though but will probably keep for a year or two in a decent cellar.
