Completely different from the wine I tasted last year. Still rather dark for old Barolo, but nothing suspicious... gorgeous high toned cherry, plum, spicy roses... Tannins not resolved, this is still a little grippy and probably always will be, beautiful dark cherry and spice lingers long, love this...

wine opened right before lunch, stayed about 40 minutes in the glasses before drinking. Quite foggy but the bottle travelled to the restaurant for quite some time. bottle level was just above shoulder, so not perfect. brick colour with still a fair intensity, quite a performance knowing it was made from... 100% Rosé clone of Nebbiolo. Dense brickred. Still very colorful for 50 year old wine. Very complex intriguing still some red fruits but overwhelming balsamic leather and cedarwood notes. Full bodied with with still very present tannins and quite high acidity for another couple of years

Corked. Bummer. There was some really nice aspects to this but couldn't get around the corked smell and taste.

70s and 80s Barolo and Barbaresco Blind (Berkeley) : Group's #6; my #6; 2 first; 2 second; 1 third; 1 last. Aromas and flavors of dark fruits, alcohol and cassis. A big still slightly tannic wine with a medium finish.
