Tenuta Caggio Chianti Classico Riserva Vanto

Very well stored since acquisition shortly after release. Very red fruit on the nose with almost a carnation note. More red fruit with a bit of earthiness on the palate - verges on succulent in mid palate then moves on to a very long much dryer finish. Won't get better, but 16 years on still in fine shape. A reminder that 1997 really was a great year for Chianti.
