This Chardonnay didn’t taste like wine, yet like heaven in a bottle. Almost like butter-juice that gives you a buzz.

It was a bit bright for a Chardonnay. Not undrinkable, but could be better.

This is a almost "non-oaked" chardonnay, in that 76% was held in stainless steel, and only 24% in used French oak barrels. In addition (from winery's tasting fact sheet) "7% of total blend is “Black Chardonnay,” meaning the juice was oxidized before fermentation to reduce bitterness, increase sweet fruit flavors and enhance complexity. Interesting and very food friendly wine. Great for those of us who don't like oak and butter chardonnay bombs.

Ruby medium transparency. Cooked plum and licorice on nose. Blackberries and pepper on palate. Hints of blueberry late in profile. Long and balanced finish. Cheek tannins. Strong showing for ten bucks.
