Domaine de L'Arlot Romanée St. Vivant

Idealwines dinner at Shin Terroir : Generous extra opened by someone at dinner. Guessed ‘12 Gevrey because of the fierce tannins and thought it was similar in age to the ridiculously young ‘10 LSG that came before. Thought it showed good restraint for ‘18 at first but with time the cherry fruit became more candied. Not the most refined RSV.

Needs 10 years to come out of its shell

Fruits rouges et noirs, un peu de menthe et d’épices. La bouche est fort accessible pour l’âge et on ne sent aucune chaleur du millésime, la bouche a de la matière et une fort belle texture, pas trop puissant et élégant avec une belle longueur. Superbe vin. Red and black fruit, a little mint and spice. The palate is very approachable for its age and there's no hint of the vintage's heat. It's full-bodied and beautifully textured, not too powerful …
