Deep- mahogany to brown tinted edges. Clearly showing age on the bouquet with ripe stewed fruits, crushed spices and prunes. The palate has a savoury feel, with smoke, charcoal coming through. Seen better days as most of the fruit has departed. The tannins still seem accomodating with a sweet, gentle tug to them. Medium finish but I should have drunk a while back!

Needs more than an hour to really open. Some residual fruit. Plenty of spice and a little smoke. Good with dinner.

Unbelievable how primary and monstrous this is showing. This must have been something else when it first came out. Actually shows a little bricking on the rim. But the nose is huge South African Syrah. Lots of fruit, smoke, BBQ, earth. On the palate, tons of fruit, very savory, but not too tannic. Acidity keeps it all fresh. This is a very nice syrah, although its pretty ripe.
