Nectarine on the nose. Slightly bitter fore palate followed by hints of sweetness. Good all round wine.

Weingut Karl Erbes (Brussels) : 11 months on the lees. I did not get it. Overwhelming nose of yeast, with just a faint peach behind. mouth is lovely, but I could not enjoy it.

The color was a light yellow with a nose of sweetness and yellow fruit, with ripe aromas. On the palate, the wine had a quite condensed feel to it. It tasted very ripe, older than a 2009 should taste. It had some apricots and vegetal notes, but I could not get over the fact that it might have been flawed. A bit flabby but still delicious. A nice version of Wurzgarten. Tighter on second taste, with more secondary notes, and more opened up. First taste must have been a bit of bottle funk. Yes, palate much better too -- more in tune and finely etched, sweet yes, but balanced, fresh and interesting stuff. Delightful.
