2013 Tenimenti d'Alessandro Cortona il Bosco Syrah showed great typicity of Tuscan wines. The Cortona Syrah was clear and deep ruby in colour without any sediments. On the nose, aromas of blackberry, black plum and violet were followed by tobacco, balsamic and thyme herbs. The mouthfeel was dry and full-bodied, with medium-high levels of acidity and chalky tannin. There were flavours of cassis, dark cherry, smoke and grahpite in a medium robust finish. Fierce tannins, not much complexity.

Distinctly Italian, not readily identifiable as Syrah. Nice inky fruit, with some development already. Disconcerting hint of TCA in this bottle.

Last of 4 bottles. Nothing to write home about. Not a really great nose and , to me, nothing special. A bit lean and astringent. I would not rebuy. To many other wines at less tariff that are much better.

Rich, complex

Nice rich, smooth Syrah—light tannins, but a good dry finish. Good mouthful-creamy feel. Very enjoyable. We let it decant for 2 hours—will still be good for five years but it’s really nice now.

really good stuff. dark fruit, dusty to well integrated tannins.

Delicious. Dark red with minty nose. Lots of Syrah spice with black fruit. Well put together - Dense without being especially tannic or anything out of balance. Acidic and tannic enough to give it some length.
