This was a gift. I would not purchase. Mediocre.

I could call this flawed for a touch of VA, but it took me 30 minutes of sipping to notice. In the meantime we thought it was a pleasant wine (good= 80-84). At $5 on sale, I can't complain. Near term drinker and have a back-up on hand in case you pick up a touch of nail polish on your nose (why would you paint your nose??).

3oz pour at Taste & Savor Wine Bar in Fort Collins. Black cherry, raspberry, black pepper, and tannins in the nose. Really smooth drinking. Moderate plus body. It doesn't taste super complex but it's super easy to drink. Would buy again

I noticed some very serious oaky afterbirths. The taste took me back to my days in italy, mamma mia for certain. Love the red though purple is my favourite colour.

Probably should be neutral on this one. Didn't hate it - didn't love it. The wine has medium body with a very mild flavor. The wine is average for this price range, making it tough to repurchase.

I have never had a wine from Sterling that has been worth the price, never had a decent Sterling wine, period and while this was a gift, this did nothing to change my mind. Barely varietally-correct and just lacking everything you'd want in a Cab. Clearly, they threw everything they didn't know what to do with of their dregs into this wine. Need I say more? 83 is generous.

Given this by a friend who asked my opinion of it. Pleasantly surprised by the black fruit, plum, smoke and oak which is integrated into a basic drink me now any night of the week with anything kind of style. Should be good to pop and pour with burgers, tacos, just about anything with a pricepoint that will not sink any piggy banks.

Bottle lost in my cellar, identified when I catalogued on cellar tracker. Clearly past it's peak but a pleasant bottle all the same. Deep red color, almost blackberry. Super smooth but still has a bit of smoke and soft tannins. Like drinking slightly over ripe fruit but fruit is very forward. Pleasant mid pallet and finish.

Lots of fruit on the nose, with stems in the mix. Dark in the glass. Dark berry flavors with good concentration. Licorice and maybe some mint.

Very friendly and approachable. Just enough nose to provide interest, dark berry - cherry color, fruit forward and light with soft tannins, very little heat. Soft, medium finish. Great for summers or pre-dinner or snacks. Nice value.

Pleasant little central coast cab, not bad for the price point. Very fruity and light with a cherry nose, no serious bouquet and a very light body, ok with lighter foods but would not stand up to serious grilling.

Interesting cab for the price. It has a pleasant, fruity nose devoid of any heat when you give it a good swirl, but when it settles it becomes more bitter. On the palate you get the typical black currant, licorice, bit of charcoal, and the finish is quite long and quite good. For the price, I can't think of another cab from CA this good...worth a try, and worth buying again as a QPR.

Cherries on the nose. Dark cherry and plum on the palate, along with a touch of chocolate. A little oak on the finish. Well-balanced, firm tannins...however this Cab lacked complexity. Enjoyable, but over-priced.

13.5% alc...given to me as a "closing gift"...extremely stemmy on the nose...same stemminess follows through on the palate, some juicy black fruits, slight oak impression, dry, but extremely simple and short finish. Categorize in the why bother section. Disappointing even as a bistro red IMO. *.

Very good. Very smooth with no peppery or sour flavors. Very drinkable. Not really complex and not much of a finish, but great for home.
