Jura with Richard Jennings (South Bay) : A rose blend 14.5% alcohol. In the glass, moderate concentration tawny with hints of gold and copper. Jura Focus Tasting : Vegemite, honey, caramel, hazelnut and peach - the yeastiness starts to blow off a bit but not entirely. The palate is sweet and nice, with plenty of nutty character.

Very interesting. I was always under the impression that Vin de Paille was a white wine blend but this wine is a beautiful deep rose color. Very sweet but it has the acidity to balance it out. Non-descript fruit flavors along with a subtle savory edge.

Bright golden. (See photo.) Deep, rich, bright, with very nice balance, and savory aspects underlying the beautiful and predominant sweet notes. Extremely enjoyable -- meted out over six nights in small doses, simply corked and put aside in between. And it got only better each night.
