This is what I'm hoping for in aged but inexpensive shiraz. Medium-bodied, bright, with good acidity and blue fruits. It's obviously Australian, but really well balanced and picking up secondary flavors. These Aussie wines seem to develop so slowly under screwcap that I could imagine it going another 10+ years. More or less the same over two nights.

Time to drink up! Still lovely with Barossa fruit, dense, chewy. But I can sense a bit of a fade...after 11 years, why not??? Thanks for the memories, but drink up!

So very very strange...I had a bottle of this a year ago, and didn't really vibe with it. So I stuck the other few bottles away (gave one away) but tonight decided it was time for another shot at this one. And BOOM!!! Amazing wine. All the richness one expects from a top Shiraz producer. Full extraction, velvety smooth fruit with hints of spice, pepper, and lovely silky tannins on the finish. Perhaps the initial bottle was bad, in a …

Medium-full-bodied with medium-fine tannins. First time that I got strong minerality from a McLaren Vale Shiraz; additional notes of blackberries and raspberries, and some faint leather. Relatively high acid, though not high enough to balance out both its RS and a fatty sausage... 14.5% ABV. Best during the first hour.

It's a 2009, you'd think this wine would be set up and good to go! Well, it's still somewhat of a brute, this wine. Popped and poured, to find a very big, and slightly harsh wine. Fruit hidden among the tannin and what I'd call "steminess". Like the clusters were fermented whole, on stem, with perahaps some of the vines and leaves (and maybe a few rocks and a bit of dirt) in the mix as well. I have a …

A teethstainer, with cherry, cedar, eucalyptus flavors. Nice acid with chewy tannins and a long peppery finish. Coming into its drinking window. Nice Shiraz at this price point.

Not really developed to the extent of previous Prophecy. Still really drinkable Barrossa Shiraz

Lots of fruit on the nose, the palate is black and red berries, with hints of chocolate and toffee spice, the finish is full and rich. It might have scored higher but it was followed by a 09 Saxum Booker which overshadowed it.

Big, perfumed nose shows notes of vanilla, jersey caramel, saffron, milk chocolate, thyme, and lavender. Palate is similarly big and perfumed, with a strong lavender note alongside flavours of blueberry, blackberry, smoky oak, and vanilla. The palate is fruit-dominant, but well-balanced, with good tannins, finishing with strong, refreshing, cleansing acidity.

We PNP'd at lunch. Lots of fruit on the nose, the palate was fruit and spice, very full bodied, and a nice long finish.
