(Tasted Blind). Pours pours deep in the glass. Medium Ruby and opaque at the core. The aromatics scream of traditionally styled cabernet/merlot. The complex and giving nose is of shaved pencil, sweet cedar, charcoal, plum, blackberry, gravel, eucalyptus, mint, and spicebox. The palate had medium minus tannin and medium acid with a long finish replaying much of the nose. This wine had me waffling between a very old-school california cab or a 'bigger' vintage Bordeaux. Drank from a 6 litre bottle. Wine was a bit tired upon opening. Needed about 3-40 minutes to wake up. All tannins gone. Wine was very tasty and easy to drink. Medium finish. Lovely wine.

Ruby core - showing some fade at the rim but this looking good for age 17; nice nose - classic St Julien, good vigour with developing herbal and red fruit notes; quite light tannins on the palate now but lovely flavour and decent concentration, a classic mature Bordeaux drinking experience - this shows what these second wines can do in the best years.

Aged leaf, cigar box and plum on the nose. Very appealing bouquet. Dark and dense, dry, moderate tannins on the palate. Finish is not too long. 89.

This is way to early to drink this. The tannins overpowered the wine. It had a nice structure and solid fruits, so I think the rating can improve. Will revisit in a year or two.
