Nice typicity here. Dark fruited and a touch gravelly, open knit and accessible, with good weight and density. Good with food too.

A very light rhone. A simple one dimensional wine with smooth edges all around.

Tasted blind with other Syrahs. Good wine, I didn't recognize it as a blend. Then again, I thought by the time we got to this wine that we were tasting all Syrahs/Shirazes. Oh well. A bit more finesse than a typical Southern Rhone GSM. Tasted like a cooler climate wine.

Color: intense ruby with purple hue. Nose: very distinguished chocolate notes. Medium intensity and quite pleasant. Subtle floral aromas. Palate: delicious cocoa with somewhat subdued fruitiness; exceptionally balanced, fine and lush. Medium to full body. Low acidity; elevated level of minerality. Tannins are softened already. Quite long finish. Amazing value. Ready for drinking.

Medium purple in colour, giving a hint to a big wine. nose is a hint of red fruit with blackberries aswell as a classic rhone stink. medium acid, definitely present tannins. would go well with grilled meat for sure, specially with a nice tangy marinade. finishes with light spicy notes with lingering tannins. This wine was recommended to me and I will certainly have it again.

Youthful Rhone blend with characteristic GSM notes. nose and palate of black pepper, tart cherry and wild blueberry. a clean loamy minerality lifts the already young fruit. Sharp acid and grippy tannins mean this definitely needs alot of air if drinking now. a bit of smoke, garrigue, and salty meat notes show nice CDR terroir and add an appreciated savory edge. still a bit young but nicely structured for a $14 wine.

Appearance: Clear wine with a medium ruby colour. Nose: Clean nose with a Medium intensity. This wine is youthful. Ripe, spicy and a little dusty - it must be grenache! Mixed ripe red and black berries, dried orange peel, black pepper and a slightly green herbaceousness, perhaps green bell pepper. Palate: Dry Medium+ acidity Medium tannins Medium+ alcohol Medium intensity Medium body Medium- finish Fresh, fruity and smooth. A lively acidity helps support fresh fruits flavours and subtle spice. Lots of black and blue fruit, Au jus, and oak spice on the nose. Medium bodied and balanced, offering a good amount of fruit on the palate, with a generous dusting of cardamom and coriander throughout. Savory finish.

Dark fruits and spiciness nicely balanced by a brisk acidity that avoids the soupiness often found in the southern Rhone and Languedoc. Decent for the price (Morrisons, £6.59) but just a little short when it comes to structure and length of flavour. (My previous negative review was for Ogier's 'Cotes du Rhone Reserve' on sale at a similar price at Co-Op supermarkets).

Very disappointing considering Ogier's usually high standards. Tried this over two days but it was thin, raw and hollow on both occasions. Insultingly low quality especially so considering the price (£7).

Over the hill. When first open, smooth and jammy. Within 30 minutes, fading out.

ok cotes de rhone when you get a good bottle, but one third of the bottles tried were spoiled. ($5 - you get what you pay for.)
