Bold aroma right out of the bottle - scents of bramble fruit and vanilla. The taste matches the aroma. Jammy bramble fruit with vanilla and slight oak. Reminiscent of Austin Hope’s Treana.

Decanted, waited an hour, lovely nose of dark fruits. There's nothing complex here, still a nice balance of vanilla bean, malt, boysenberry, and light acidity. I like what Beau Vigne has done here. I'm curious if time improves? I bought two 750ml. I might give the next one a year to see what evolves. I am a fan of Beau Vigne and I know the winery has changed hands and the former wine makers have moved on.

Pleasantly fruity nose with a pleasant reminder of a Napa Valley barrel room. From there forward, expectations were not met. This wine needs to decant for an hour and could use another year of rest. Fruits are present, but the expected cab fruit delight is replaced by a blended taste with some mildly astringent after tones (petite sirah?). It is still an enjoyable wine, but will not be presented to my enophile friends during dinner.
