Consistent with prior bottle. Mature, fairly rich, and starting to add some nutty tones, but still vibrant and alive.

Punches well above it's weight. Mature, fairly rich, and starting to add some nutty tones, but still vibrant and alive.

Friday Night Wines with Friends : This isn't bad. Nice bead, toasty, yeasty apple and pear flavors. Nice length and good balance. What I'm missing in this Champagne is a little more acid. I am beginning to think that I like Launois better younger. Thees seem to get slightly creamy with age, and I prefer the lemon zest/citrus notes they show in their youth. Either way, this was a good way to start.

Dinner and Wine (Casa Pelz) : As usual, this is a super reliable champagne that is lovely by virtue of its freshness, apple peel notes, and yeastiness. I seem not to be able to go wrong with this producer.

Grat balance, refreshing acidity. Not rich, but stood up beautifully with sausages. Not oxidized. Delicious. A bargain.

Vintage Champagne Blindtasting (Tom's House, Palo Alto, CA) : Group's #7 (my #7) – 108 pts; 3, 2, 1, 6 – biscuity, creamy, strawberry nose; tart sweet grapefruit, with less acidity but still balanced; medium finish
